Community Containment Measures

 Community containment measures are actions
taken in an attempt to keep people apart from one
another in order to minimize the spread of the
disease. The purpose of this section is to discuss
measures that may need to be taken to address
the spread of the disease in a manner that may
involve a single individual, the occupants of a
particular structure, a neighborhood, or an entire
community. Some of the measures discussed
include:

- Isolation
- Quarantine
- Social distancing

Such measures may be implemented voluntarily
or as mandatory orders originating through
appropriate legal channels. The legal aspects of
containment measures must be considered in
advance of a pandemic. In addition, there are
social, political, economic, and labor issues
involved that must be addressed prior to
implementing any community containment
measures.
